During a typical 20 – 30 minute session, our compression therapy boots begin rhythmically inflating and deflating at the feet and gently work their way up your leg removing inflammation, swelling and waste product while promoting healthy blood flow. A Brief History of Compression Therapy

In 1998, rehabilitation physician and Ph.D. bioengineer Dr. Laura F. Jacobs developed the NormaTec Pneumatic Compression Device. By engineering equipment that promoted blood circulation in the body, she was able to enhance the health of patients whose circulation is compromised by disease, as well as those whose bodies are recovering from surgery, radiation treatment or trauma. It wasn’t long before athletes discovered that this treatment could increase their athletic performance.

What do I wear?

We recommend wearing loose or comfortable clothing during your session. You will sit in our zero gravity recliner. One of our staff will assist you into the attachments and your session will start. Your legs will be kept elevated so that gravity also helps in circulating the body fluids. Each compression therapy session is approximately 20-30 minutes. It is a non-invasive procedure. However, you might feel a little bit of pressure. If you experience any kind of pain, you should notify an Imagine Float staff member immediately. We can reduce the pressure to a level that is more comfortable for you. Close your eyes and relax.

What do I bring?

While we do our best to provide everything that you will need during and after your treatment, you may want to bring some items that will add to your comfort and relaxation. If you want to listen to music or watch something on your digital device, we require that you bring your headphones.

First Timer’s Guide

What will your first compression therapy session be like and what should you expect to happen once you arrive at Imagine Float?  This brief guide will walk you through the process so you’ll arrive prepared, anxiety-free and ready for your session.

We try to make this as seamless as possible. You will find several “BOOK NOW” buttons on our website. Click the button and you’ll be on your way to booking your time and paying in advance so that you have nothing to worry about upon arrival. If this is your first time at Imagine Float we highly recommend the “First Time Compression-Three Pack”.

Arrival Time
If it is your first time to Imagine Float we ask you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your session to assure you have time to fill out our waiver and go through our brief introduction. If it’s not your first time here, just be sure to arrive on time. Any time past your scheduled appointment will tap into your session time.

Upon Arrival
Check in at our reception desk. A staff member will show you to your room, take you through the next steps, and answer any questions you have.

Embark On Your Session

During Your Session
Once your session begins, keep your legs will be kept elevated. Gravity assists in circulating body fluids. Each compression therapy session is approximately 20-30 minutes. It is a non-invasive procedure. However, you might feel a little bit of pressure. If you experience any kind of pain, you should notify an Imagine Float staff member immediately. You have control of the settings if you need to increase or reduce the pressure to a level that is more comfortable for you. Close your eyes and relax.

After Your Session
When your session is over, our staff will assist you out of the attachments. You are welcome to enjoy some tea and cool water in our “relax and recovery” room.
